I am a packrat. I keep documents and paid bills and whatnot from aeons ago.
My filing box finally became too full to put more things in, and I decided against buying a second one.
So, I went online to get a listing of how long you should hold on to certain paperwork and documents.
And then I spent an evening weeding out the chaff from the truly fileworthy papers.
(I probably don't need to hold on to my W-2s from 1997. I haven't been a member Hills Bank for almost three years, so the old statements can go...)
Which led me to several stacks of papers that were then filed properly -- ultimately resulting in a half-empty filing box.
So, I then spent a little while weeding out the papers that were sensitive, and the papers that weren't.
And I went out and purchased a cross-cut shredder, which is adorable and desk-sized, but works like a bigger model.
Now, I am ready to throw my own ticker tape parade.
What's in your head?
