Part of my fantastic Mercury Broadband package from RCN is having all of the HBO channels.
Now, this would be totally cool, except that you must use the provided cable converter box to access these channels.
Me? I'm an forward-thinking girl. From my perspective, if I have a old school knob-on-the-front-no-remote-style television, then yes, I need a cable box. If have a cable-ready remote-controlled television, then I don't need a cable box.
So, for the last month I've lived here, I haven't used the box at all.
I also haven't been able to watch the HBO channels.
Today, using some cables from the "cords and cables" box, and an old cable-splitter, I have fixed things up so I can easily switch between cable box usage, and regular old cable-readiness. I hooked the cable box up right before the television, but after the other appliances, and have discovered that the box doesn't interfere with their signals and recording powers at all.
So I can still tape two different things, and watch something else at the same time, in true technogeek-esque fashion.
What's in your head?
