We are writing to tell you that you are once again eligible for Sallie Mae's Rewards programs! Continue making your regular monthly payments on time. When you've reached 48 scheduled monthly on-time payments, we will reduce the interest on your eligible Stafford loans by 2%.
You only need to make 38 more monthly on-time payments. Your next payment of (amount) is due on 07/23/02. Pre-payment of your monthly installments cannot be used to obtain the Rewards interest rate reduction prior to the 49th calendar month.

Calling me a delinquent and booting me from their program, and then kissing my ass with a pleasant invite back into the program, all in a span of less than two weeks.
It certainly makes the mind reel.
See, invoking the names of your Senators is a good thing. I should do that more often.
