...this i know to be true

Sometimes it's nice when I'm not the heavy, because it means someone else can enforce the rules and policies.

If you can't abide by the rules and policies that a society dictates, you get in trouble, especially when that society holds everyone like you, including you, suspect until proven otherwise.

Now, back to our story...

I know someone that used to work at a department store in the 70's. The rules were a little more lax then, I'm guessing.

So when he went corporate in this day and age, he wasn't prepared for all the regulations that went along with the perks.

It's hard working on someone else's time table, I know.

And sometimes it's easy to misunderstand certain aspects of the rules, especially that they have no room for interpretation.

So, when he didn't follow the rules to the letter of the law, he got the smackdown.

He thought he was fine with his interpretation of the rules, but he wasn't, even though the transgression was completely unintentional, and he got busted.

And he was pretty okay with it, but was a little embarassed.

Hell, I'm embarassed for him, too. Especially since I've been in almost the same exact situation on more than one occassion.

Yore & Yon.
