After dedicating his life to education -- both in attendance, and as a practitioner thereof, Matty has decided to leave the shitty politics of the educational system behind him, and take up the thankless task of retail management.
On the negative side, he is obligated to work in the summertime, which is a bummer indeed.
But on a more positive note, he still gets to boss high schoolers around. However, if they disobey, they won't get detention so much as the likelihood of being fired.
That's gotta put a smile on someone's face!
