Okay, maybe it is wrong to be excited about the season 2 premiere of Big O tonight, but I am. So sue me.
I always have a special place in my heart for cutie anime boys and girls, and both Roger Smith and Dorothy fill that niche. Besides, there are big robots, mystery, and the same people that voice Spike and Faye voice Roger and Angel, who happens to be a sketchy, morally ambiguous hot chick, much like Faye. This is a show that fills the Cowboy BeBop void a little. Even Dan Dastun looks a little like Jet.
Regrettably, there is no Ed-alike, nor an Ein substitute. But Norman reminds me of Alfred Pennyworth. And, I suppose that Roger reminds me of Bruce Wayne.
Which, as we all might remember, is a character of whom I am quite fond.
Besides, who can't love a theme song that seems to be people chanting, "BIG O! BIG O BIG O BIG O! BIG OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BIG OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BIG O!" over and over? The writer of the score is no Yoko Kanno, but still. It makes me giggle, I tell you.
