Last week, the guy from The Potential Future Place of Employment called me back to ask for professional references.
I gave him several, and he said he'd get back to me.
Never having been through this sort of hiring procedure before, I have to trust other people that tell me I pretty much have the job if my references go okay.
Which doesn't do me a damned lick of good in the mean time.
I mean, yeah, sure, I have such glowing references that the light from them will be still be seen in distant galaxies years and years hence, but still.
Rent is due in three weeks, and I'm actually working at a financial deficit. Yes, all of the non-rent bills are paid, but I'm theoretically something like $100 in the hole, and have to come up with rent by the 1st.
I'd sort of been hoping that since I had been recruited and interviewed twice in July, that perhaps I might actually get the job in July.
Foolish me.
Here I thought I could start a job that actually pays me remotely what I'm worth, and then I could save some money all this month so that I could make rent without any acts of desperation in the mean time.
Crazy crazy me.
What's in your head?
