I was at the mall and in a store they were selling candles and soaps that had either wax or soap fruit suspended in candle jelly or glycerine soap. Why would people want to burn a jar of fake canned fruit? Worse why would they want to smear it all over themselves. Is this some weird fetish that i am previously unaware of? Is this the rising cult of canned fruit? or are they hoping somone will eat these products? like rubber chocolate or other novelties?
There is a certain kitsch factor associated with candles, and other weird household things like soap. People collect oddities, which explains the presence of not only fruited candles and soap, but little guest soaps that look like tiny sheep, flowers, or candies.
It's amusingly perverse to cleanse your body with something that looks not unlike a wedge of watermelon.
Or so I've heard.
I prefer to just smell fruity, and glycerine soap makes me skin itch.
Myself, I think that non-wax-based candles are creepy. If candles were meants to jiggle, then they'd be made by Haribo, and you could eat them. However, I'm fairly sure they weren't meant for human consumption, since they taste icky.
