I was coloring my Jilly Bean's hair an interesting mix of Ego and Attitude, with a little violet intensifier added for fun, when some random -- a cute girl -- wandered into the salon, looking for Kristen.
I identified myself, and she handed me a bottle in a brown paper sack, saying that someone on the ped mall had asked her to deliver it, and then she walked out of the salon before I could ask whom had sent her.
Inside the bag was a delightful-looking bottle of ice wine, and I spent the remainder of the afternoon boggling over who had sent it.
Had it arrived in the mail, I would have known precisely who it was from, but a personal delivery shrouded in mystery eluded me. All of the locals who might have known to messenger me over a bottle of sweet white dessert wine -- my favorite (except Sauterne) -- professed ignorance of the deed.
I had a secret admirer all afternoon.
And then I came home to find out that the person that would have most likely mailed me delicious wine was in fact in town, and had sent it via randomness.
Random acts of florality (lilies and gerber daisies) and candy (vermont maple candy) are also much appreciated.
Hint hint.
