My family came to visit this weekend, spending Saturday in the city while I worked in the suburbs, and then hanging out with me Sunday before they went home.
The only real surprise came when I asked mom what hotel they were staying at, and she told me they were staying at my dinky studio apartment with me.
We ended up watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding on HBO, having a sleep-over, eating breakfast here, and then we went to Evanston and shopped at stores that you'll never find in Cedar Rapids, have lunch at one of those noodle-based restaurants, and then came back here to load up their stuff so they could go home.
I also ended up cutting mom and Allie's hair.
At least mom made waffles with fresh blueberry sauce for breakfast, and dad gave me $40 for the inconvenience.
