For some inexplicable reason, my mailing system isn't working.
Normally, and because until my car is paid off, I fill out the payment coupons for bills, write the amount due and the date due where the stamp goes, and arrange the envelopes in chronological order. Then, one or two weeks before it is due, I put in a check, stamp it, and drop the bill off at the post office.
This has worked wonderfully for the last 6 months or so, until this month. First, I mailed the payment for my mastercard a week before it was due, but it arrived a day after, and I got socked a $29 late fee. I'm sorry, it shouldn't take a piece of mail dropped off at the post office in the morning a week to get to Seattle. That's ridiculous. Of course, I'm fighting this tooth and nail.
Then, I mail my Sallie Mae payment 10 days before it was due, and it still hadn't arrived by the 26th. Of course, it was due the 23rd, so I am now officially, and most likely irreversibly kicked out once again from their Rewards program. Is it my fault that it took an envelope that was mailed over TWO WEEKS to get to Wilkes-Barre, PA? Apparently so.
And I'm willing to bet that another letter probably wouldn't help one bit, considering the tone of the last one.
Why does God want my finances and credit to suck so very much this month? I'm a good person, I pay things in a timely fashion.
What's in your head?
