...in my head

Why is a raven like a writing desk?*

We were watching Alice Through the Looking Glass, a 1998 British production, and I realized Alice was a blonde Kate Beckinsale deeply in need of a touch-up.

And then I realized that the British have an even more fucked up take on the whole Alice thing than we here in the States.

I saw that pap the "wizards behind Thirteenth Kingdom and Merlin" brought to life on the small screen in 1999. An intriguingly fresh interpretation of the classic Alice in Wonderland? My ass. A hasty and well-considered Changing the Channel was more like it.

At least the British interpretation was viewable, if not more than mildly disturbing.

Or at least I thought so.

Yesterday & Tomorrow .

*According to Carroll himself, "Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is nevar** [sic] put with the wrong end in front."

**Raven put with the wrong end in front, you see.

What's in your head?
