So, I'm over at Shower Girl's, watching TV. Everyone else is asleep, and I'm minding my own business when there's a knock on the door. Being the gracious guest, I answer the door and find a big biker-looking dude standing on the front steps.

He asks me if I'm the one who ordered the pizza last night, and I had to tell him I didn't know what he was talking about. He explained that one of my roommates (as though I lived there) had ordered a pizza and there'd been a problem, but that the individual who'd started the altercation had been terminated, and if he (the big biker-looking dude) had been there, he'd have kicked the rowdy's ass. He was also terribly apologetic and said he hoped we hadn't been put off from his business and that the next time we called for an order, we were to tell them that, "Tom said it was on him," and then he apologized again for any inconvenience and wished me a nice day. He then left.

I vaguely remembered Shower Girl calling the house at around 3am and there being something mentioned about a pizza maybe having been delivered there by accident. So, I decided to wake up Shower Girl and tell her about the big man at the door and what he'd said.

I relayed his message and had the incident explained. Apparently Shower Girl had been at a friend's house, and they'd ordered pizza from Falbo's. Shower Girl is a regular enough customer of Falbo's that they recognize her by name and know her order without being prompted. After an hour or so had gone by, they'd called up Falbo's to see where the pie was, and the phone was busy, despite repeated attempts to get through.

They decided to drive over the Falbo's to see what was up. When they got there, some weasel working there told them that the restaurant was closed. Shower Girl explained that they'd ordered a pizza and some drinks an hour and a half earlier and wanted to know where the food was. Weasel told them that he'd been there all night, was the person taking orders, and that they'd never called Falbo's.

That's when things went downhill. After some sort of verbal altercation, Weasel started mocking Shower Girl and calling her names and picking on her, when one of his coworkers found the order slip and tried to intervene. Shower Girl wouldn't take any shit, so they left and she decided to call up the next day and complain.

Before she had a chance to call, someone (probably Weasel's coworker) filled in Tom (the big biker-looking dude and the owner of Falbo's) about what happened and he fired Weasel and came over to apologize.

That's good business practice, if you ask me. Even if I don't know what the hell is going on.

Yesterday & Tomorrow.
