The irony of this is, I received this exact same letter at both pixie@pixiemartin.com and askpixie@pixiemartin.com.

And I know for a FACT that I have never ever opted in to receive special offers of any kind with the askpixie mailing address, because its sole purpose is to receive letters from advice-seekers.

I'm more inclined to believe that there is some ass out there with this address on a master list that he's sold to all of the webtrolling search engineers, and that the above statement in the table about opting-in is a patent lie.

And here's the reply I sent to Vanessa Lintner's own personal email address:

Miss Lintner,

I have already unsubscribed this address from your mailing list, but I thought I would also take the time to drop you a clue, which just might have something to do with the assurance of one thing beyond the fact that I do not want your services.  

This email address has NEVER EVER been used to sign up for anything, opted-in on any partner website, or had any other purpose than to be the address to an ADVICE column. As such, I mock every single letter of this nature that I receive on my website, which has an established international audience.  

What it boils down to is not only that whoever sold you this email address is both a liar and a fraud, and that by using this person's list you are perpetuating those mistruths, but every single time one of you hucksters contacts me with, you are hung out and made to look incredibly stupid to a wide array of netizens, most of whom have their own websites, and will most certainly never be using your services.  

Happy Holidays.  

Now leave me the fuck alone.
