What I constantly find amusing about yoga is that despite the fact that I can't do the splits, or execute a simple handstand, and have hip and knee problems, I still manage to be flexy in the oddest ways.
I can get into the lotus position without using my hands to help.
I can do full vrikshasana* (tree) easily.
My knees fully touch the floor during badda konasana (bound angle stretch), even before I begin the forward tilt from the hips.
And what good does being oddly flexy do for me?
Not one damn bit, from what I can tell.
