One of Carol's clients has a daughter named Haley.
Haley is about one of the cutest 4.5 year-olds I've ever seen with my own two eyes.
Plus, when she was born, she had 6 fingers on each hand. That's right, four regular fingers, a thumb, and a vestigial thumb on each hand.
When she was two she had surgery to have the extra digits removed.
Today, she just has a tiny star-shaped scar on each of her hands, just to the side and slightly below each thumb.
I'm sure she doesn't really remember the extra thumbs, and she didn't even really seem to mind them when she had them. But what a cool-ass story she can tell people someday.
"I was born with 4 thumbs!"
I wish I was cool like that. The only thing cooler would be to have been born with a tail.
"Hey, see that scar there just above my arse? That's where my vestigial tail used to be!"
