Today was a terrifically productive day.

Not only did I wake up in a good mood, but I got up early, and went to work in good spirits.

I had a rewardingly busy day at the salon, despite finding out that in May, the store hours are going to be cropped another hour. We went from a 9pm close, to an 8pm close, and now we're going to a 7pm close. Really, this only effects me in that I'll now have to go to work an hour earlier twice a week, but it should make Carol infinitely more fun to work with! *shrug*

I even got to mess with Carol's mind a little because for the second working day in a row, we've worn similar outfits. Friday, we both wore yellow rolled-neck cardigans over orange shirts, and dark blue jeans and chunky black shoes. Today we both wore cream-colored sweaters over cream-colored shirts, and khakis with chunky black shoes. I told her we should both wear red shirts and blue pants on Wednesday, and she actually took me seriously enough to ponder whether or not she had any blue pants that she could wear to work. Whatta maroon!

After work, I went home, changed into jeans and sneakers, put my dirty laundry in the dirty laundry basket (instead of on the bedroom or bathroom floor), hung up the sweater I was wearing (I'm making an effort to keep a tidy house), and called the police to have the neighbor from down the hill ticketed for parking in our lot. I could have had her towed, but I think the actual ticket may be a big enough scare to motivate her to take my notes more seriously.

I had a nice dinner of pot roast and vegetables, with a side of steamed mustard greens and a big glass of water. For dessert I had some amaretti cookies, which are my favorite cookies on the entire planet, and I have 3 more boxes of them stashed away for later.

Then I took out the trash, carried all of the cans and bottles out to the car, and loaded up all of the stuff I've been meaning to take to Goodwill but haven't gotten around to actually taking anywhere, and drove off towards the grocery store. I returned all of the cans and bottles, dropped the bags off at the drive-thru at Goodwill, wished the man a pleasant day, and then used my can money to wash my car.

I went to class where I positively contributed to three critiques, and even managed to use the phrase, "I wasn't sure if this story was about friendship or about getting her cherry popped," and, "I didn't really care enough about the character getting her hoo-hoo plundered for the first time," without getting censored or poo-pooed by the instructor.

I came home from class, watched a little television and ate a big bowl of Raisin Bran. I'm not sure what the big deal is, but I've been on a freaky carbo-craze lately, and nothing hits the spot like those bran flakes and sugar dusted raisins!

It was a very good day. I didn't blow my top at anyone, I had fun at other's expenses, and I discovered that the hot cocoa in the Nescafe machine in EPB is pretty damn good, even if it doesn't come with a lid.
