There's a movie by Wong Kar-Wai called Chungking Express.

Two movie is split into two separate stories about two separate police officers in Hong Kong, and their two separate love-lorn existences.

The second of the two features Faye Wong in her acting debut, who according to Quentin Tarantino, is the Hong Kong version of Madonna. She rocks nonetheless.

I wanted Jeffrey to see the movie because the character she plays, Faye, reminds me so much of myself when I was younger.

She is an irreverent, silly, and utterly childish creature that breaks into and fixes up the apartment of her policeman love interest, who isn't particularly aware of her existence. She alters his environs so subtly that he doesn't notice, adding fish to the aquarium, replacing his flip-flops and tablecloth, cleaning and the like.

Terribly illegal but strangely admirable.

Jeffrey has not only seen the movie, but wanted me to see it because Faye reminded him of me.

And I just want to be that whimsical, carefree, and effortlessly happy again.

Yesterday & Tomorrow.
